What is Philhealth?
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or “Philhealth” is a government-owned corporation in the Philippines which provides healthcare insurance for citizens of the Philippines. Members of Philhealth pay a contribution at different premium rates. See the Philhealth website: HERE.
Are Overseas Filipino Workers required to pay contributions to Philhealth?
The Philippine Government made an announcement on 4th May on Philhealth premiums. The Philhealth insurance memberships contributions are voluntary and are NOT linked to the issuance of the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
